Kauai is geologically the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands. With an area of 1,456.4 km2, it is the fourth largest of the main islands in the Hawaiian archipelago, and the 21st largest island in the United States. Kauai lies 170 km across the Kauai Channel. This island is the site of Waimea Canyon State Park. The 2000 census population of Kauai Island was 58,303.
Fishing, hiking, wind surfing, scuba diving, camping, horseback riding and golf are the main activities of the island. The island gives opportunities for you to see a variety of geography, landscapes, and other points of interest like beaches, parks and valleys.
