Columbia River, North America



The Columbia River is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. The river is 2,000 km long. The river emerges in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, Canada. It flows northwest and then south into the US state of Washington, then turns west to form most of the border between Washington and the state of Oregon before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. 14 hydroelectric dams are constructed on the river’s main stem.

Uluwatu cliffs, Bali, Indonesia


Uluwatu cliffs are located in island of Bali, Indonesia. The Tertiary limestone cliffs of Uluwatu were lifted from the ocean floor by subduction.

Kalaupapa Cliffs, Hawaii USA


Kalaupapa is a small unincorporated community on the island of Molokai in Hawaii. Kalaupapa Peninsula at the base of some of the highest sea cliffs in the world, dropping over 2,000 feet to the Pacific Ocean.

Tenaya Canyon, California USA


Tenaya Canyon is a dramatic and dangerous canyon in Yosemite National Park, California, USA, that runs from the outlet of Tenaya Lake 10 miles down to Yosemite Valley, carrying water in Tenaya Creek through a series of spectacular cascades and pools and thence into a deep canyon below Cloud's Rest, a giant granite mountain adjacent to Half Dome. The top of the canyon can be seen from Tioga Pass Road. Hiking the canyon involves dangerous exposure to heights and, even if there is minimal water in Tenaya Creek, mandatory swims, dangerous waterfalls, and cascades. Wet and slippery glacially polished granite adds to the likelihood of falling. Te canyon has no foot trail and is notoriously difficult to navigate, particularly in spring and summer when water levels are high.

Yosemite Valley, California, USA


Yosemite Valley is a glacial valley in Yosemite National Park, California. The valley is about 13 km long. It is surrounded by high granite summits such as Half Dome and El Capitan, and densely forested with pines. The valley is renowned for its natural beauty, and is widely regarded as the centerpiece of Yosemite National Park, attracting visitors from around the world.

Patong Beach, Thailand



Patong Beach is Phuket's most developed beach and is 3 kilometres long. It is located 15 km from Phuket town, Thailand. Patong is mostly made up of hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and various tourist attractions. Every year, hundreds of tourists visit Patong.

Preikestolen Cliff, Norway

Preikestolen is a massive cliff 604 metres (1982 feet) above Lysefjorden, opposite the Kjerag plateau in Forsand, Norway, about one hour away from the town of Stavanger. This famous tourist attraction is also called Pulpit Rock or Preacher’s Pulpit and attracts almost 100,000 visitors in the summers. Preikestolen offers breathtaking views.

Croaghaun Cliffs, Ireland

Croaghaun is Europe's third-highest cliff (2,178 ft). It is located in Ireland in County Mayo. The Croaghaun Cliffs loop around the uninhibited northwest of Achill Island and are accessible only by climbing to the top of the mountain. Hikers are then rewarded with breathtaking views of a vast array of sheer rock faces. The cliffs at Croaghaun can only be seen by hiking around or to the summit of the mountain, or from the sea. The views from the top of the cliffs are breathtaking, and the unusual corries and unique rock types make this location desirable to hikers.

Beachy Head Cliff, England

Beachy Head is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain. Its height is 162 m (530 ft) above sea level. Its height has also made it one of the most notorious suicide spots in the world.
